Granite State Smiles Project is a New Hampshire-based voluntary non-profit organization organized exclusively to expand access to critical oral healthcare for low-to-moderate-income working individuals who face a severe financial barrier to necessary dental treatment.

Our primary activity consists of a structured financial grant program targeting the "Medicaid-gap" demographic—specifically individuals whose household incomes place them above the threshold for state-sponsored adult dental Medicaid benefits (New Hampshire Smiles Program), but who lack employer-sponsored dental insurance and cannot afford private out-of-pocket dental costs.

Public members apply through our secure online portal and submit diagnostic treatment plans and fee estimates obtained from licensed New Hampshire dental professionals. Applications are sorted into distinct routine or advanced care funding pools and evaluated by a designated board committee using an objective, non-discriminatory rubric based on verified household income metrics, clinical urgency, and intersecting systemic health correlations.

To ensure complete financial integrity and prevent the personal misuse of funds, Granite State Smiles Project operates under strict internal controls. No grant funds are ever distributed directly to individuals; all approved grants are paid directly to the treating, licensed dental clinic or oral surgeon handling the patient's care. This program is funded entirely through public contributions, digital fundraising campaigns, and charitable foundations.
